Well, we snuck in and had our ultrasound today.
We just couldn't wait another week to find out if I was incubating one or two of the lil stinkers.
(That would've been almost 22 weeks!)
So, I called to see if they had any openings.
They did, and....
Drum roll, please...
We get one, and only one, sweet baby this time around!
I am so excited and relieved that I haven't shut up since.
Heaven.
It'll be pure Heaven to have one baby to dote on, spoil and love.
I can't wait!
Most of you will be miffed that I stuck to my guns;
we didn't find out what it is yet.
Daddy and I confirmed with each other afterwords,
and we're both sure we saw hamburger buns.
Girls are hamburger buns. Boys are turtles.
That's what they told us with Camden.
You get the picture.
Not that we're in any way saying it's a girl.
That was just our impression.
Everything looks great.
Very healthy.
Everything measuring perfectly.
They were surprised at how well the measurements matched up with the dates.
Extra long femur. Just like Gwyneth.
I couldn't believe how well we could see the facial features.
I was stunned by the beauty of it.
Perfect lips, nose and chin.
Now, if it comes out looking like Daddy you all have to pretend it's beautiful anyway -k-? (:
Maybe we can find the scanner so I can share our pics later.
We'll see.
Now, everyone take a huge sigh of relief for me!

My new best friend...
Sorry girls.
But, let’s face it.
I'll be spending more quality time with it than with any of my girlfriends.
Sad. But true.
Yesterday my hubby surprised me with a new camera.
It is the very thing I have longed for, dreamed of and, yes, coveted for AGES.
And now it's mine!
All mine!
There are not many things I'll spend money on for myself.
Truth be told; I threatened Lyle should he spend that much money on me when we have a baby coming, a car to buy and grass to put in.
But...
He did. (with his bonus)
And...
I'm so very grateful.
Just think, girls... new baby pics!
Yay!!!
I don't even have words to express how excited I am about it.
And Staci.
She was so sweet.
Lyle purchased it from her, hardly used.
She packaged it up, just like new for me.
Took the strap off and everything. (:
Thank you! {hugs}
And Crystal.
You were so funny;
Calling me, just waiting for me to say something and trying to figure out if he'd already given it to me or not. I was just waiting for you to spill the beans! (:
And let's just say the kids are a little less enthused about it than Mommy.
I think they thought they were home free when I went on my little morning sickness vacation.
HeHe!!!

A Spoonful of Sugar
She woke up feeling like a hot tamale early this morning.

It's the first real fever she's had...ever.
"It hurts." She says.
"Where?" I ask.
"I don't know."
Poor thing.
She clings to me all day.
All she wants is Mama...and her pink princess blanket from Uncle Beaux and Sarina.
And apparently she prefers Mary Poppins' bedside manner. She tells me she now has 2 mommies. Guess who.
Oh well. Who can compete with that?
Maybe there really is something to all that sugar?
I guess it beats Mommy's cuddles, anyway.

I've been tagged...
My most embarrassing moment.
I've been thinking back through my life and I can honestly say that I can't find many truly embarrassing moments.
Upsetting? Sure. Like the time some guy flashed me from his car in the drive-through when I was working at the latte shop...the most upsetting part to me was that I didn't think fast enough to dump a cup of boiling water in his lap before he drove away.
Unsettling? Yep. How about having a male nurse coach you when you're trying to nurse your firstborn? He was very "hands (and eyes) on". I shudder to recall that one.
Undignified? Certainly! How does wretching your guts out for the entire trip from Boise to home sound? In the back of your brother-in-law's car? Four months pregnant? Up until that point I had never puked in front of anyone in my adult life. Food poisoning.
Thwarting? That would be the time I was showing off my high kick, which was pretty impressive, in a mini skirt. Now the modesty issue wasn't such a big deal, I was only about 10. But can anyone guess what happens when you throw one leg up and you have a tiny, tight skirt on? Well, it quite effectively pulls your other leg out from under you and lands you flat on your back hard enough to take the air outta your lungs...and get quite a roar from the crowd.
But embarrassing?
Hmmmm.
I got nothin good.
I guess maybe it would have to be at Matt's 30th birthday BBQ. When I was so engrossed in taking photos that I backed into a ditch that ran through their yard. Once again landing flat on my back in a cloud of dust that was not missed by anyone present. My dear, sweet sister-in-law even raced up and snapped a few photos of her own. I don't really know why it embarrassed me so badly. Not really a big deal. But I had to retreat inside for about 5 minutes to dust off and compose myself. When I felt ready to face the crowd again I headed back outside where an elderly gentleman instantly approached me and said, "Oh sure. Run off and hide, why don't ya." I turned about 20 shades of red and the horror I felt had no choice but to use my face to express itself...to which he instantly corrected, "Not you! The horse!" Sure enough. I was standing right in front of their fence and directly behind me; the horses. Ugh! There's nothing worse than handling an embarrassing situation without grace or class. Something I'm guilty of on a regular basis.
Hmmmmm. I tag Shelby. Only one because there aren't many of us left!

Another year...
I was de-decorating our tree today. Something I never look forward to as I find it extreamly depressing. Camden came in and asked what I was doing. I explained to him that Christmas was over and now it was time to take everything down.
"But, that's so sad." he said, mirroring my thoughts, exactly.
The start of a new year is always hard for me...the passing of time, never to be reclaimed.
Hours and moments spent with my babies; happy, carefree and innocent.
A reminder that these days will soon be only a memory, fading softer into the background with each passing day.
A subtle warning to find the joy every day holds and to take the time each day to realize the treasure that surrounds us.
To run the race.
And never give up.
Because we never get another chance...

Smitten
I am in love once again.
I told Lyle when we woke up yesterday morning that baby had grown...a lot!
Last night, for the first time, I felt it move. Not that little tadpole swimming around inside, but the movements of a real baby that you can see and feel from the outside. I will never get over how amazing that is! A brand new little soul...inside of me! Truly the most amazing experience to be given us on Earth. I am still just giddy over it. What a fitting Christmas gift; new life.
Happy Christmas Eve, everyone!
We are looking forward to a birthday party for baby Jesus at Grandpa and Grandma's tonight. When I asked Camden if he was excited about it he said, "Ummmmm, I don't know."
He has no idea what to expect. Do we see baby Jesus? Bring him a gift? Watch him open presents? Have cake and ice cream? This will be so fun! Thank you Grandma!
