Doctors...

I'm so sick of them I could, well, puke!

Going in twice most weeks just to get my injections and appointments taken care of is bad enough. Did I mention I get a shot in the butt and/or my blood drawn every time I'm there? They've started referring to me as the human pin cushion...I'm not joking. (And they wonder why they can't get my iron built back up!) Add to that getting deathly ill, and then being referred to a specialist for my iron deficiency, not to mention the eye exam I had to get taken care of before I had a newborn to tote along, and it's plumb wearing me out!

And that's just me! Now we're on day 3, or is it 4? of Gwyneth and her mysterious "flu" If she's not better by tomorrow Daddy says we have to take her in. But that's okay because we'll already be there seeing to Jude's arm. It happened 3 weeks ago when Daddy fell down the stairs with Gwyneth in his arms and landed on Jude's arm , crushing it against the edge of a step. We thought, knowing Jude, that if it was broken, he'd let us know in his typical (never stops whining) manner. But he only favored it for a day or so and then seemed normal. We forgot all about it, until this week. He's whimpered, "Mama, you're hurting my arm!" twice now and after looking more closely I realize that it is still bruised and now has a lump. Not good. Please pray that it's okay so they don't have to re-break it and cast it. Makes me want to cry just thinking about it!

And Gwyneth's eye! It never seems to get better, only worse! We see her doctor about that Tuesday. We're praying that they can actually do something about it, otherwise she may end up with a lazy eye in the end. We've been patching it on and off since she was 6 months old, and it helps, but whenever we stop it gets bad again.

I know, I sound like a hypocondriac! I promise, I'm not! I am so tired of going to the doctor! Actually, I think I'm just tired.

And this is blog is my happy place...aren't you glad I don't have an un-happy place? (:

I just prayed for you. I hope you are doing better.

I think I'm almost as bummed as you guys that you aren't going to be there tomorrow.

Love ya!

man oh man!
How old are kids when their bones change? Cause I know when their young their bones don't break, they bend, so in that case poor Judes arm would've healed on it's own anyways. The only reason they cast Kira's was cause she was just walking and falling a lot.

Prayin, love ya.

Terah,

You do seem to be having an exceptionally rough go. Will pray for you and your family.

I don't have a lot of experience with broken limbs--I do know of a couple instances when it can happened as young as 2.

The only personal experience I've had was when Tobey fell while running in the yard and broke her arm when she was 3. Craig took her in for x-rays but the doctors didn't want to set it for a week because the swelling needed to go down first. It was not a bad break and there was some bruising and soreness. She did heal a lot faster than I expected.

With little ones, it is sometimes hard to know for sure what to do...

We've had two kids come down with a 6-hour stomach bug of some sort--maybe it's the same thing as little Gwyn, only she got hit harder? Hope she gets feeling better soon.
