"Hi!"

Last night Adah went to bed pretty early and woke up at 2:30, wide awake.
She cooed, babbled and sang for nearly two and a half hours before I finally got up to check her diaper. She was so excited to see me I couldn't help but giggle and say "Hi, sweetheart."
And she replied, plain as day, "Hi." (only in a sing-song voice perfectly mimicking my own, "Hi-ya")
I'm not kidding.
And the amazing part is that she has been able to say it since she was just over a month old.
Yes. I'm well aware of all the subtly rolled eyes and knowing looks exchanged when I try to tell people this.
I realize everyone thinks I'm just a doting mama with an overactive imagination.
But.it's.true.
She'll only ever say it for Camden or me.
Camden gets such a kick out of it and exclaims,
"She said 'hi' the right way, Mom!"
Well, last night she decided to really strut her stuff and kept repeating it back to me.
And Daddy even heard it from the other room!
He said he counted six times.
Ha!
Now, I just have to get it on video so I can prove it to everyone else!

yep. I believe you also! (;
It makes me wander why she only does it for you and Camden...
I think you should see if she'll say hi too one other person that looks just like her, her papa Jim!

That is such a great shot! I love the intensity of her gaze!

I totally believe you...
Jayde seemed to be a very early communicator, both in verbal and non-verbal ways. Had lots of people commenting on how animated and 'talkative' she was when she was just a couple of months old. We never thought of it because she was our first, and assumed it was normal (until we had Levi). And now she's seven. And never...stops....talking. Maybe Adah will have better application of the 'quick to listen' verse...? :) Now lets see if you can teach her 'gday'...
