from the mouths of babes

This week's favorites;

During this morning's devotions with the kids Jude asked why Terah (Abraham's father) had died.
"Because he got old." I replied.
"Well, most people see God when they get old." he says.
"No, most people see God after they die." I corrected.
But apparently I misunderstood what he had said...
"No, Mom! Most people smoke cigars when they get old!' I really want to smoke a cigar before I die!" With tears in his eyes...

He's four.

I know.

Last weekend I made No-Bake cookies for the kids. They didn't set up and were a little soft.
After the kids each ate one I asked if they wanted seconds.
"No thanks, Mom!" Camden said.
"I don't really like slushy cookies."

Yesterday the kids all helped me wash (100) apples we're dipping for the fair.
We set them all out to dry on the kitchen table.
"Just look at them, Mommy!" beamed Gwyneth.
"Aren't they pretty!" I said.
"Oh. They're just so cute standing all in line like that!" She exclaimed.

Well, won't Grandpa Jim be proud?

Slithery meat and slushy cookies. What are you feeding poor Camden?

I love that she's a girl. It's just such a girly thing to say.
