What was Camden doing...?

Well, he was doing what any good photographer does...
getting a shot of the action!

It was so cute. As soon as he saw me grab my camera he raced upstairs and retrieved his new camera from on top the bookshelves in his room. Then he raced back down and had a hayday. He was telling Jude and Gwyneth how to pose, not to jump, to keep their socks on, that he needed a couple more pictures, and all the other things I've ever told them during a photoshoot. He sounded just like me and it made me giggle to watch him. He was so giddy with excitement. I'm not sure I'll ever get him in front of the camera again!

I took my first visit to the Dr. today.

You know.
The one where you take a pregnancy test,
they tell you you're pregnant,
and then charge you $30 for it.

That's it.

Then you get to go in a week later to see a Physician's Assistant and get your bloodwork done.

Then you get to go in a week or two after that and see the Dr. for your first exam.

Does anyone else feel the way I do about this?

I find it very irritating to have to go in so often, when it would be easy for them to roll all these into one appointment. It just seems very unnecessary...coupled with the fact that I'm lookin at going in 1-2 times a week for the entire second half of my pregnancy (for progesterone shots) and have no choice but to finish it off with a c-section, because insurance won't cover a vbac. Don't get me wrong. I would gladly do anything for the welfare of my baby. I just don't feel all of this is necessary and I feel I'm left with no other options....it's frustrating.

yeah, it seems as though since that office is so busy, it would be helpful for them also to have one apt. vs three... hummm... doesn't sound like it's gotten any better, actually worse! Olivia was four months along before being able to even seeing a Dr. so far you're getting special treatment compared to her!
I'm so sorry you have to have c-section. :( You never know, maybe you'll go into labor so quickly that they won't have time! At any rate, it will be all worth it!

Aw, I'm sorry Terah. I always hated the Dr. runaround thing, too.

It would be nice if Docs werent so squirrelly about VBAC. I know a lady whose first one was a section. Then she had a set of twins naturally, then several more, then two at home and she had some pregnancy complications with #12, so had to be under an OB's care and she had to skip over into the next state for her VBAC delivery because the in-state docs wouldn't even let her do a trial labor!

Hope your visits go well.

I agree that the weekly visits could be put into one....plus it is a bummer for the non-pregnant people trying to get in for an appointment.....2-3 months out! Maybe if they scheduled the 3 baby visits into 1 they may have more time???? Maybe not...seems like they are ALWAYS overbooked....

But the bright side of things is that even though you will have endless visits, and a c-section....it helps to keep your eye on the goal and the end result....a healthy beautiful precious baby!

Why won't your ins cover a VBAC?

HEY! CONGRATULATIONS! That is exciting news! :) I dont know why, but I get quite giddy with this kind of news. We have a whiteboard by our desk with 'to dos' etc on it, but on the top left hand corner I have a prayer list of any women I know that are pregnant, now I can add you to the list. :)

I sympathise with your predicament. With Levi, I was in hospital for 6-8 hrs every monday from 21 weeks on. I wasnt very impressed with the situation. Jayde was born emergency c-s but Amber was born VBAC. Maybe your docs could set some kind of 'deadline' with you...eg, if you went into labour naturally by 38 weeks that they could give you a trial of labour...and if not, then you could schedule a CS. Levi was scheduled at 37 weeks to avoid what happened with Amber, but I think once you've had that 2nd CS, they dont usually like to go back from there.

But anyways, plenty of time to dwell on those things...and besides, God knows exactly how and when and all those details. Congratus again! How far along are you?
