It was the first time any of our kids have spent the night away from us and the house felt so empty without her in it. Mama had a very long night, complete with bad dreams...Not out of worry for her, just simply missing her.
When Aunt Crystal first asked if she would like to stay the night her eyes got as big as saucers as she animatedly bobbed her head up and down, up and down. She never said a word, but ran to get ready for bed and then came dashing out as we left to hug us all good-bye.
I'm told that two very excited girls giggled until at least 10:00, sharing lip gloss and sneaking out of bed to try on new headbands...and after finally falling asleep, slept like babies all night long.
I could hardly wait to see her today. I arrived to find a pink ballerina, complete with striped knee socks, bun and headband...a very grumpy ballerina indeed! She did not want to come home!
Thank you Aunt Crystal and Ava for being so much fun!
Next time it's our turn!
